AMERICAN

Ruth's Chris Steak House - If you are looking for fabulous, mouthwatering, tender, juicy, sizzling steaks, you won’t be disappointed here. This Ruth’s Chris is as good or better than you could get back home! The a la carte selections of vegetables are huge - you may want to choose several and share them. Save room for desserts — they are simply divine. Dine casually inside or on the glass enclosed patio. Sure to satisfy!

The Porterhouse Grill - Cancun’s newest steakhouse, located across the street from the Flamingo Plaza, has all the ingredients for success: a New Orleans chef, candlelit tables arranged in cozy dining areas, groovy background music, superb wine list, live lobster tank, attentive service, umbrella-ed patio tables, valet parking, and an open kitchen where your steaks are cut to your size and trim.

ARGENTINEAN

La Capilla - Those who have visited in the past, will fondly remember La Capillas famous specialty buffets. They’ve changed their menu and are now one of Cancun’s newest steakhouses, Argentinean-style. But not to worry, you can expect the same Marriott quality and service. The huge domed ceiling (cúpula), rich woods and Spanish tiles are some of the features you’ll enjoy in this most comfortable setting.

CARIBBEAN

La Habichuela - For 25 years the Pezzotti family has welcomed guests to this lovely home with its lush Mayan garden, where dining under the stars adds to the allure of twinkling lights in the trees and candlelit tables. Sooo romantic, it’s no wonder visitors keep returning year after year. Always a favorite, selected Nº 1 in our locals survey 1999. You'll be glad you made the trip to town. Say “LAH-b’CHWEH-lah”.

Mango Tango - An outstanding setting staged outdoors beside the Nichupte Lagoon. The tropical atmosphere is perfectly blended with the very colorful costumes of the dancers and the upbeat rhythms of the music. A most professional show, including fun surprises. You'll get your chance to dance later in the evening. The show begins at 8:30pm, but plan to get there around 7pm. Don't miss it!

The Plantation House - Be swept away to the Great Plantation Era of the Caribbean, when only Royalty dined like this! Exquisite in every detail, built in sections over the lagoon, each table overlooks a natural aquarium. Beautiful woodwork, beveled glass, fine china, hand-cut crystal, a tiled fountain, lovely bar area with piano, everything you need to make memories that will last forever.

ITALIAN

Gustino - The luxurious J.W. Marriott's most elegant restaurant is a feast for the eyes and the palate. An impressive entrance leads past a well-stocked cellar with select wines from all corners of the world, a gourmet shop and the open kitchen. Huge windows offer lovely views of the pool areas and beach from three dining levels. Exquisite presentation. A violinist adds to the romantic atmosphere Wednesdays through Sundays.

La Dolce Vita - A local’s favorite for over 17 years. George Savio and company consistently provide delicious food, an excellent wine list (with good prices on the reserve wines), topnotch service and stylish ambiance. One of the owners is always ‘hands-on’. Whether you choose to dine indoors or on the lagoon-side terrace, the restaurant lives up to it’s name, ‘the sweet life’.

Savio's - This friendly European-style eatery has the feel of a winter garden, with its lush plants, cool colors, and comfortable seating areas. Relaxing soft jazz, very reasonable prices and friendly service will definitely put you in the comfort zone. Truly a fine place for dinner. Great bar, two happy hours (from 5 - 7PM and 10PM - Midnight), perfect for a late night cocktail or nightcap.

Stefano's - The prices won't hurt your wallet, and the owners will make you feel right at home. Cozy and comfortable, with interior and small garden dining areas. Stefano's is a good place to visit with friends and see 'El Centro'. If you go for lunch, ask for the specials menu (Menu Ejecutivo). Service is congenial, the staff is well informed and the food is consistently good.

JAPANESE / THAI

Mikado - One trip here might not be enough. Sit at one of the many Teppan-Yaki tables to enjoy the exciting knife shows & you’ll still have the other Japanese dishes, the Thai dishes and the Sushi to check out. A wonderful chance to enjoy many different dishes and combinations of flavors. There´s nothing like a hot Sake to warm your vacation spirits!

MAYAN

Pacal - Want to try something you can’t get back home? Then get ready for a delightful adventure into the fascinating Mayan Era, reflected in the décor and by the authentic recipes carefully prepared by the Chef. You might like to begin with a sample tray of assorted regional dishes - a good way to experience the delicious variety of flavors. A romantic trio plays live music. A special round table area can be reserved for parties of six.

MEXICAN

El Mexicano - The exciting glory of Old Mexico comes alive in vivid colors, with beautiful Folkloric dances, Mariachi bands, and other talented performers, all showcased in the elegance of a 19th century hacienda reproduction. This show will certainly get you into the spirit of fun while introducing you to the rich culture of the country. Very entertaining for all ages.

La Joya - Next to the lobby of the gorgeous Coral Beach Hotel, this elegantly appointed restaurant features several levels,high ceilings, huge stained glass windows, a fountain, artwork and more. Spacious yet intimate. An entertaining variety of live music with great acoustics! Don´t forget to ask for your complimentary Tequila tasting or 'Rita.

Maria Bonita - This beautifully decorated “hacienda” filled with exciting sights and sounds, will remind you of the reason you came to México! Different seating areas, including a glass enclosed patio with a view of the water. Beautifully decorated with lots of color in the furniture, tilework, table settings, walls and art. Several bars, one where tortillas are being made in red, white and green! Very festive live music.

SEAFOOD

Captain's Cove- Located on emerald Nichupte Lagoon, Captain's Cove is a Cancún institution. You'll find that tropical feeling you've been dreaming of, especially at sunset. Dine inside under palapa roofs or outside on the deck in a casual, comfortable ambiance. Watch the boats go by, relax while you enjoy seafood and steaks, wonderful tropical drinks and 'Royal' service.

Crab House - Located in a two story building in the middle of the Hotel Zone. Great views of Nichupte Lagoon in the air-conditioned upstairs dining room; downstairs features an island-style bar and a large deck lagoon-side. Very casual, children welcome. The Crab House's expansive menu has something for everyone. Live music Tuesday through Sunday. Two-for-One Lobster and Sunset Happy Hour daily!

Faro's - A palapa-topped stairway takes you up to one of the most inviting settings around. Lovely views look out over Nichupte lagoon and the tropical landscape below. Casual, nautical themed interior, a fine menu, friendly waiters, and great sunsets await diners at Faro’s Lighthouse. Have a cool tropical drink and watch the sun go down.

La Brisa - Follow the palapa path to one of the most beautiful ocean views in Cancun. Sitting outside on the patio is so sublime, a chance to enjoy the soft evening breezes and the spectacular sunsets. A wonderful selection fresh seafood, some very unique to Cancun - the waiters are always glad to help you with your choices. Live Cuban music adds to the ambiance.

La Fisheria - On the lagoon side of Plaza Caracol. A great variety of international seafood dishes with reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere. Floor to ceiling windows add a light and airy touch. Want something not on the menu? Carlos, the manager, will do his best to make it happen. ‘Mr. Nostalgia’, on guitar, specializes in romantic requests Monday through Saturday.

Lorenzillo's - This very popular restaurant is built completely out over the water, with seating inside or on the wraparound deck. Live lobster, from Lorenzillos's own farms, is excellent. If you like lobster, you can´t get it any fresher than this! Very casual, comfortable, and the service is great. You can enjoy before or after-dinner drinks at a separate bar on the pier connecting to the dining area.

Lorito Joe's - Hungry for seafood? This new restaurant aims to please with all you can eat buffets displayed in huge clam shells. Diners with big appetites won’t be disappointed. Tasteful decor including a lovely stained glass wall, grand wooden columns, and large arched windows. Dine inside or on the covered terrace nestled alongside the lagoon and the mangroves. You may even get lucky and see a crocodile!
